What stays in the den

Dogs are excellent secret-keepers — whatever you tell one in the kitchen stays in the kitchen. We hold ourselves to the same standard, and the good news is we barely learn anything to keep.

What we collect on our own: nothing you’d call personal. No accounts, no sign-up forms, no newsletter jar. Our hosting keeps standard server logs — anonymous request lines with truncated addresses that help us spot broken pages and bad robots, then age out on their own.

What passes through on a click: when you follow a “fetch it” button, Amazon learns a visitor arrived from this site — that’s how the Associates program works — and their cookies take over on their pages under their privacy policy. Amazon never tells us who you are; on a good day we learn that somebody, somewhere, bought a scratch board, which is honestly all we want to know.

What we’ll never do: sell, rent or trade anything about you — we couldn’t even if we wanted to, because there’s nothing in the den to trade. If you email us, your address is used to reply and then left alone.
